Located close to Jingwu Road in Wuhan, once famous for its street vendors, this complex reflects the diverse activities that once thrived in this location. The design team approached the master plan by first studying the area’s historical heritage, the scale and shape of buildings, streets and public spaces, and by mapping the different communities that inhabited it. The 147,000-square-meter project includes a series of office and residential towers, as well as a hotel and impressive new public spaces, animated by a variety of shops, cafes and restaurants. The project successfully created a walkable, highly permeable new part of the city.
